Rainy-day Fukuoka with kids: 3 indoor visitor options

Compare Fukuoka City Science Museum, Anpanman Museum and Marine World by admission, access, tickets, strollers and nursing facilities; choose a rainy-day substitute.

FIRST QUESTION

Where should I go with children on a rainy day in Fukuoka?

Start with one venue based on your child’s interests and travel effort. Compare the Science Museum in Ropponmatsu or Anpanman in Nakasu-Kawabata for a city outing; plan Marine World separately for an aquarium day. An indoor venue does not imply a fully sheltered station-to-door route.

Swap these into your existing itinerary

Science Museum instead of Ohori Park

Replace the park on day 2 of the three-day plan with the Science Museum; keep only a Tenjin meal and break afterwards. Check Tuesday closure exceptions and dome show times.

Three-day itinerary →

Anpanman instead of a Nakasu walk

For a child who likes the character, center the outing on Anpanman and plan stroller storage and meals first. Leave room instead of stacking more paid attractions.

Admission & stroller guidance ↑

Treat the aquarium as a separate outing

If choosing Marine World, reduce city sightseeing and long side trips. Check return transport, viewing and meal time, and changes to shows first.

Check Marine World conditions ↑

Restaurant queue and child conditions → · Compare indoor shopping →

Before leaving with children

  1. Plan changing, feeding, meals and naps first; check stroller entry, loans/storage and lift access.
  2. Start with one venue plus a meal and break, adding short shopping only if energy allows. Prepare to drop the final stop if crowds or weather change.
