Fukuoka Airport to Hakata & Tenjin: international and domestic arrivals

International arrival → shuttle → subway

1. After immigration and baggage claim, find the free domestic-terminal shuttle. Compare the airport guide’s international stop 5 with current signs.
2. At the domestic terminal, follow subway signs to Fukuoka Airport Station. Check the terminal map if you need lifts instead of stairs.
3. Confirm the Airport Line direction and your Hakata or Tenjin destination; use a ticket or an accepted IC card.
4. Include shuttle waits, transfers, station access, train waits and the final hotel walk, not just time on the train.

Domestic arrivals or an international-terminal bus

Domestic arrivals can follow the airport’s direct subway directions. For international-terminal buses to Hakata or Tenjin, use the airport’s destination list to identify operator, stop and drop-off. Different operators may have different fares, schedules, payment and baggage conditions.

How to check the cost

1. Domestic/international terminal shuttle: free according to the airport.
2. Subway: fares depend on distance. Check the official fare guide and route map for your destination and adult/child category.
3. Bus: check your operator’s route fare and payment method. The free terminal shuttle does not mean city buses are free.
4. Passes: compare actual airport and city journeys; do not assume another operator’s services are included.

Departure day and late arrivals

Check your departure terminal first. For an international flight, reaching the domestic-terminal subway station is not the end of the transfer. Work back from airline check-in limits, including the terminal transfer. For late arrivals, match the last service with your hotel’s final check-in.
