You do not have to walk the entire lake. Choose an east- or west-side playground and the Japanese Garden around your child’s age and breaks.

Where should I start?

The official lake circuit is about 2 km. With children, start with entrance → playground or short walk → rest → return. Add the Japanese Garden after checking its separate admission and opening days.

Compare Ohorikoen and Tojinmachi stations

The park gives about seven minutes on foot from either Ohorikoen or Tojinmachi on the Airport Line. Choose your playground or garden entrance before choosing the station. Check hotel transfers and the station’s lift route separately.

The two playgrounds suit different outings

The park describes east-side Kujira as a more active play area and west-side Donguri as a shaded space with equipment for smaller children. Follow on-site age and usage signs; you need not visit both.

A short out-and-back works too

The circuit separates walking, jogging and cycling areas. Follow the walking signs with a stroller and leave the path clear while taking photographs. If your child tires, we suggest returning the way you came rather than completing the loop.

The Japanese Garden has its own hours and fees

The Japanese Garden opens 09:00–17:00 in October–April, last entry 16:45, and until 18:00 in May–September. It normally closes Mondays, or the following day after a holiday Monday, and December 29–January 3. The child category is under 15; under-six visitors enter free.

Keep boats and the art museum optional

Our suggestion is one short walk or playground as the main outing. Check boat operation, weather and child rules with the operator; check exhibitions and closures separately for the art museum. Avoid relying on an unverified café for nursing facilities or a high chair.
