Traditional streets and a city view
Pair Sensoji and an Asakusa walk with Tokyo Skytree. Leave space for travel and a meal around your observation-deck ticket.
Compare six sights for a first Tokyo visit, from Sensoji to Shibuya Sky and teamLab Planets. Find out which stops work together and what to check before booking.
Official information reviewedStart with one area: Asakusa and Oshiage, Harajuku and Shibuya, or Toyosu. Arrange any timed tickets first, then add nearby walks and a meal. The routes below are JapanPin suggestions; visiting and queue times will vary.
Pair Sensoji and an Asakusa walk with Tokyo Skytree. Leave space for travel and a meal around your observation-deck ticket.
Visit Meiji Jingu before it closes for the evening, then fit Shibuya Sky around your entry time. Choosing one observation deck gives you more time to enjoy the surrounding area.
teamLab Planets is in Toyosu. Check the venue name on your ticket and combine your visit with a meal or indoor shopping nearby.
Walk from Kaminarimon through Nakamise to the main hall. The hall opens 06:00โ17:00 from April to September and 06:30โ17:00 from October to March. These are not the opening hours of individual Nakamise shops. Choose a nearby meal stop after your visit.
Check official details โCheck whether your ticket includes the Tembo Deck, Tembo Galleria or both. From Oshiage or Tokyo Skytree Station, follow the route to the fourth-floor entrance; the official guide also shows a step-free route. On busy days, counter sales may stop, so check online availability before setting out.
Check official details โArrive for the date and time on your ticket. The operator says adult tickets sold out online are also sold out at the counter. Wind or rain can close the rooftop, where bags and selfie sticks are not allowed. Check the opening status that day and your sellerโs change and cancellation terms.
Check official details โEnter from the Harajuku side and follow the wooded approach to the shrine. Allow at least another ten minutes from the entrance to the main buildings. Opening and closing times change each month, so plan a daytime visit before evening shopping. The garden and museum have their own hours and admission arrangements.
This immersive museum includes artworks experienced while walking through water. The official access guide lists a one-minute walk from Shin-Toyosu Station or ten minutes from Toyosu Station. It is separate from teamLab Borderless at Azabudai Hills. Check the venue, price, entry time and change policy before booking, and prepare for the water-based exhibits.
The Main Deck is at 150 metres, while the Top Deck Tour includes the 150- and 250-metre decks. Check the ticket type if you want the higher viewpoint. A walk to see the tower from outside and a visit to the observation decks are separate plans; follow the arrival instructions for your chosen tour.
Check official details โJapanPin suggestion: in the east, pair Sensoji and an Asakusa meal with Skytree; in the west, follow Meiji Jingu with Harajuku and Shibuya. Give teamLab Planets its own Toyosu time block. Start with one paid observation deck per day and leave room for meals, transfers and entry queues.
Save an indoor exhibition or department store in the same area as a fallback for rooftop views. Check Skytreeโs step-free route and teamLabโs visitor information, and leave time for childrenโs meals and naps. If you need to change a booking, check the terms of the site where you bought it.
You do not need all three. Skytree pairs with Asakusa, Shibuya Sky with Shibuya, and Tokyo Tower works if the tower itself is a priority. Our suggestion is to choose one based on the view, weather and budget.
No. The teamLab Planets covered here is in Toyosu. Check the venue name, address and entry time on your confirmation before travelling.
Timed tickets can still involve security checks, lifts and entry queues. Arrive at the stated time and avoid placing another booking immediately afterwards.
Find a food hall, shopping stop or meal in the same area.
Plan an indoor visit around the exhibitions and family facilities.
Check ticket sales before planning around this separately booked museum.
Add a separate day for temples and the coast outside Tokyo.
